This is how my social network looks like

This is my social newtork based on my Facebook friends and the mutual friends I have with them.

The layout of nodes in the network is done using D3's d3-force module. I also colour-coded each node according to the group/era I know that person from. As can be seen, there are distinct clusters of people that all share a similar colour. This proves (as I expected) that my connections are mainly from one distinct era that don't mix: high school, uni, work, etc. The ones that do, are purely coincidental.

To extract this data from Fabebook is not so straighforward. Due to data protection measures they take, I ended up manually copying the friends' and our mutual friends' list. However, I still got blocked from accessing people's profile pages several times. It was a tedious work, but worth it.
